A note from the farmer:
These prunes come from French and Italian prune plums. The fruit is grown on the Warren Ranch in Alexander Valley, and has been farmed organically since planting in 2011, and certified organic since 2014. We dry farm (without irrigation) this orchard for moderate yields of intensely flavored fruit. We sun dry the fruit for a variety of reasons: we like the tradition of sun drying fruit, it is more economical, environmentally friendly, and we believe the slow drying (three weeks) produces a more quality product.
